ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

DanStaBat Performance Society (operating as Tara Cheyenne Performance) was established in 1985, recognized federally as a not-for-profit charitable organization on August 21,1986 and has since been sharing its work with the general public. First founded by Chick Snipper, DanStaBat invited Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg to become its Artistic Director in 2007 and has since created and performed kinetic theatrical expressions through exquisitely realized characters, crafted choreography, a healthy dose of comedy, and lashings of tragedy. All our work is inspired by and reflects on the wonderful human experience.

Mandate: To encourage and grow the work of underrepresented artists and performers in the Dance-Theatre communities in Canada.

Mission: To spark community engagement and make contemporary dance more accessible to the public through physical story-telling that blends comedy, movement and text.

Core Values: Creativity, collaboration, equality and diversity.
