Artistic Director | tara cheyenne friedenberg

Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg works among the boxes labelled; actor, dancer, director, writer, choreographer, drag artist, educator, and is the Artistic Director of Tara Cheyenne Performance. Tara has created over a dozen full-length performance works, choreographed for experimental and large scale theatre companies, collaborated with international artists, made a show on a river with badass femme-creators and mothers, she ticked the MFA box last year, likes to hang out with her very cool teenager, and is currently squatting 140lbs.

Associate Artistic Director | Daisy thompson

Daisy Thompson is an English settler living on the unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh, Səl̓ílwətaɬ and xʷməθkwəy̓əm Nations, also known as Vancovuer. As a dance artist who performs, creates, educates, and writes, she seeks to extend ideas of the dancing body as a key site for the questioning of embodied power relations, and considers how the dancing body interrupts cycles of contemporary logics of control in relation to culture and identity.

After completing her dance training at the Laban Dance Centre in London, Daisy has had the fortune to work as dancer/performer with the Trisha Brown Dance Company (USA), Eva Karczag (Amsterdam), Emmalena Fredriksson (Sweden/Vancouver), Ugo Dehaes (Belgium), Lee, Su-Feh (Vancouver), Mascall Dance (Vancouver), and O.Dela Arts (Vancouver), amongst more.

She has presented her own choreographic works internationally and locally, has worked as choreographer/movement coach for theatre including The Frank Theatre Company and Ruby Slippers Theatre, published several articles including in the Performance Matters Journal and the Canadian Theatre Review, and regularly teaches in a variety of spaces in Vancouver, including Simon Fraser University, University of British Columbia, Training Society of Vancouver, WeDance, and more. Daisy holds a Ph.D. from Simon Fraser University. 

General manager | hannah meyers

Hannah Meyers is a performer, director, creator and floral designer. Graduate of SFU BFA Theatre Performance (Hon.). Born and raised on treaty 6 territory in Edmonton, AB and currently living on the unceded Coast Salish territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil Waututh Nations. She is the General Manager of Tara Cheyenne Performance and co-founder of Lo-fi Spectacle Club; a nascent performing arts collective. With LFS Club, Hannah is currently developing The Pippa Bacca Parable (working title) and medicine cabinet, a book of photos,prose, the profane and the profound. You may also have seen Hannah drumming with HotDykeParty.
