DANCING ON THE EDGE – JULY 10 & 11, 2011

An excerpt of Highgate will perform as part of EDGE TWO at the Dancing on the Edge in July 2011.

Highgate is a morbid romp through Victorian funerary culture, jumping straight from the darkest part of Artistic Director Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg’s imagination. Reflecting personal and collective grief a band of figures captivate in this fascinating gothic feast of death, physical oddity, humour and horror.

This dynamic trio of dancers: Alison Denham, Bevin Poole, and Kim Tuson are performing an excerpt of the full length piece which will premiere at The Cultch in Fall 2012 with a cast of 6 performers, debuting the company’s first ensemble piece.

Costuming by Alice Mansell, sound composition by Marc Stewart and lighting design by James Proudfoot.
The work takes its title from Highgate Cemetary in London, England.
